    About Renato Lima De Oliveira: 

    As the Deputy Dean of Student Journey and Associate Professor of Management at the Asia School of Business, Prof. Renato Lima de Oliveira plays a pivotal role in shaping the MBA experience. A research affiliate at MIT and faculty lead of the Center of Technology, Strategy, and Sustainability (CTSS), his expertise lies in the political economy of development and state-business relations, particularly in the areas of industrial and innovation policies and government accountability.

    Holding a Ph.D. in Political Science from MIT, Prof. Renato's research has taken him across the globe—from copper mines in Chile to shipyards in Brazil and energy hubs in Malaysia—allowing him to blend real-world insights with academic rigor. He teaches courses on International Business, Sustainability, and Energy Markets and is a key advisor for MBA students engaged in Action Learning projects across Southeast Asia and beyond.

    Beyond academia, Prof. Renato has worked as a business reporter in Brazil with experience in newspaper, TV and radio. He has also worked as a consultant for energy, environment, and politics, including assignments for the Ministry of Energy of Mexico and the World Bank.
